When shopping in China, bargaining for a lower price is the first thing you must do, and now you can outsource that pesky task when you shop online. A middleman is available to bargain on your behalf for lower prices with the e-retailers. Here’s an example of the whole process:

“I thought 120 yuan would be a fair price for a pair of shoes priced 150 yuan at an online store. But a net bargainer took half an hour to get me the shoes for 100 yuan,” said Wang Huan, a 25-year-old white-collar worker. After the deal, she paid the bargaining fee – 20 percent of the 50-yuan price gap – which she thought was “absolutely worth it.” In total, she paid 110 yuan – 100 yuan for the shoes and a 10 yuan bargaining fee.

Actually, So-called net bargainers are those people who learn consumers’ needs, organize group-buying and bargain with sellers for consumers through Internet.

As of now, it is hard to give an exact number of how many net bargainers exist, but in nearly all influential Web sites, forums, Internet groups and blogs have net bargainers operating there.

No matter what, it is a truth that net bargainer is becoming a new favorite career among Chinese youth.

Being a net bargainer can be treated as freelance work or occupation in China, and some of them could earn more than 10,000 yuan per month on average. Pretty amazing!

However, concerns are raised about the legality of net bargainers.

Wang Jun, a lawyer from Anhui province, was asked what happens when the buyer ends up with a fake product and what responsibilities bargainers have to buyers. And what if bargainers fail to cut the price.

Wang said the government should start drafting regulations for the new occupation, in order to protect the rights of online customers.
