自考英语词汇常用短语及习惯搭配（介词+名词）

after all终于，毕竟；虽然这样
eg. Don't get discouraged by setbacks, we are new to the work after all. (毕竟)
eg. After all, she is your boss, so invite her. (毕竟)
eg. He came to the party after all. (终于)

ahead of time提前
eg. We completed the work five days ahead of time.
eg. The house was completed ahead of time.

around/round the clock昼夜不停地 
eg. He studied round the clock for his history exam.

eg. People who do very important jobs sometimes have to work around the clock.

as a matter of fact其实，事实上

at home在家，在国内；精通，对…内行；自在，自如
eg. These things can all be manufactured at home.(在国内)

at intervals不时，时时；相隔一定距离
eg. He visits the town at intervals.(不时)

at last最后，终于

eg. He had at first been very tense, at last relaxed. (最后)

eg. He ran his eyes down the page and found his name at last. (终于)

at least至少；无论如何
eg. She was at least that much shorter than me.(至少)
eg. At least he survived.（无论如何）

at length终于，最后；详细地
eg. At length he returned.(终于)
eg. At length the young lady raised her head and looked steadily at his intelligent face.(终于)
eg. He went into the subject at full length. (详细地)
eg. He talked at length about his work and his family. (详细地)

at no time从不，决不 ，任何时候都不

At no time would he smoke. (从不)

At no time is here parking next to a fire hydrant. (绝不)

At no time should you give up study. (任何时候都不)

at once立刻，马上

eg. He took off at once and headed back to the notel.(立刻)

eg. I have to go, I really must, at once.(马上)

at one time同时，曾经

eg. They try to do many things at one time because they don’t know how to prioritize tasks. (同时)

eg. At one time in the past, it almost became extinct. (曾经) 

at present目前，现在

eg. No more workers are being taken on at present. (目前)

eg. At present, China is still on the initial stage of socialism. ( 现在 )

at random随意地，任意地 

eg. He read a great deal- but at random for pleasure. (随意地)

eg. The guards pair off in all directions, making their choices at random. (任意地)

at risk处于危险中

eg. He was putting himself at risk.

at stake处于危险中，在紧要关头

eg. The life of the whole Empire was at stake. (处于危险中)

eg. I was writing a letter at the moment when he came in. 

at （the） most最多，至少，不超过
eg. She's 25 years old, at most.

at the same time同时；但是，然而
eg. All speak at the same time.(同时)
eg. At the same time you must have sympathy.(但是)

eg. His language is a bit vulgar at times.

at work在工作，忙于
eg. He had an accident at work.
eg. She had been at work for over an hour before her boss arrived.
